What can you expect after joining the STI
1.
Apply online
It only takes 5 minutes! Fill in a short registration form. Tell us your sector, size, and which pathway you're interested in and a regional coordinator will be in touch with you to confirm your registration.
2.
Onboarding session
A short introductory call with your STI coordinator to explain the process, share preparatory materials, and answer your questions before the workshops begin.
3.
Three workshops
The heart of the programme. Each workshop covers one phase (Discover - Build - Transform). Run in small groups of mixed-sector companies. Expect active participation, peer discussion, and practical exercises, not slide presentations. For most companies, this phase takes about 6-10 months.
4.
Your commitments
By the end of workshop 2 (Build), you'll have 3–5 SMART sustainability commitments ready for review, which will be done in workshop 3 (Transform). Once validated, you receive your STI status and appear on the national STI directory.
5.
Ongoing community and follow-up
The programme doesn't stop at the status. You'll have access to peer exchange events, webinars, the B Ecosystem, and the option to progress to higher ambition levels over time.
Our standard programme brings together a dynamic mix of participants from companies of all sizes and sectors. Over the course of three engaging half-day workshops, we take you step-by-step through the process of tackling your most pressing sustainability challenges.
Using real-world examples, proven analysis methods, practical tools and actionable guidelines, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to move from intention to impact. What really sets this programme apart is the value of peer-to-peer exchange – insightful discussions with participants from different industries spark new ideas and perspectives.
The Value Chain Activation Pathway brings together companies along the same value chain with similar challenges to brainstorm on viable solutions. You can involve your suppliers, distributors and customers in the programme to collectively improve and amplify your impact.
Interested in addressing challenges specific to your industry? You can join the STI programme with other companies from your sector. y choosing a Sectoral Pathway, you will be able to tackle common challenges with peers through co-creation sessions that promote the creation and development of innovative solutions to shared problems and risks.
The STI Fast Track Pathway is designed for companies which already have sustainability goals aligned with the SDGs. In this case, companies can benefit from the STI methodology to create and publish their goals in a national dashboard alongside other STI Leaders. To join this pathway, companies need to submit their 3-5 sustainability pledges compliant with the Self-Check Document below. Once you have submitted your pledges, we will contact you to confirm your eligibility and the next steps to get you on the B Ecosystem Dashboard.
Check to see if you’re eligible by downloading the Self-Check document and contact us to discuss next steps.
Regardless of the pathway you choose, here is what you walk out of the STI Programme with:
📄 Your Sustainability Roadmap
A complete sustainability action plan with goals, timelines, and assigned responsibilities. Yours to keep and build on.
🎯 3–5 public commitments and your STI status
