B Corps are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
The B Corp Certification is a holistic and rigorous certification awarded to companies after they are assessed in 5 key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Environment, Community and Customers. Becoming a B Corporation, or B Corp, means that a company not only meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability, but also demonstrates a commitment to managing stakeholder impact for the long term by incorporating it into their legal structure.
Transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet
B Lab is in the midst of the biggest change to the B Corp standards. Whilst regular revisions have been made to the B Corp standards since B Lab’s launch in 2006, the time has come for B Lab to evolve the standards, not just revise them. As the climate crisis intensifies, societal inequality grows, and the sustainability landscape evolves, it’s important to meaningfully demonstrate the leadership role B Corps and the movement play in the world. The new standards will provide clarity for companies, galvanizing the most impactful business actions and focusing on what really matters.
Our work is only possible thanks to our partners, who enable us to build and implement our programs and initiatives, and more broadly to deliver our mission to contribute to transform this economic system into a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative global economy.
