Maintaining Inner Calm in an Uncertain World – a Key Skill for Changemakers

Just recently, the Stockholm Resilience Centre reported that the planet has reached its first catastrophic climate tipping point, with widespread mortality of warm-water coral reefs now underway. Reading such news can easily leave us feeling overwhelmed, and this sense of unease has become a near-constant in today’s world.

Worldwide uncertainty, volatility, and rapid change are now part of our daily reality. Each news cycle seems to reinforce how unpredictable our world has become, and many of us are left feeling drained by the relentless pace and ambiguity that define our time. This is the context in which changemakers must operate and lead.

This session will explore how to cultivate resilience and clarity amid ongoing stress and disruption. Together, we will take this moment to learn how to bring out your best self in the face of uncertainty. You will gain tools to strengthen mental clarity and resilience, essential qualities for changemakers navigating today’s volatile and fast-moving world.

The session will be moderated by Lynda Mansson, Board Member of B Lab Switzerland and Leadership Coach, who brings her experience in guiding leaders to remain centered and effective even in the most turbulent times.

Activating Capital for Systemic Change

Discover how financial institutions and businesses can align capital with sustainability goals and unlock impact-driven finance as a lever for systemic change.

The session begins with a high-level panel moderated by Jonathan Normand, featuring Kim-Andrée Potvin, CEO of Banque Bonhôte, a B Corp channeling investments toward positive environmental and social impact; Florence Kiss, from Lombard Odier, a B Corp certified private bank developing sustainable investing solutions to create long-term value; and Nicole Bardet, from Banque Alternative Suisse, a socially and environmentally responsible bank dedicated to ethical investments and the common good. The panel will discuss barriers and opportunities for redirecting capital toward systemic transformation and explore how financial institutions embed impact into governance, culture, and long-term strategy.

Insights and perspectives from the high-level panel will serve as a foundation, nourishing the discussion in the second part and informing reflections on practical mechanisms and the legitimacy of sustainable finance.

Moderated by Adela Villanueva, the second part focuses on innovative financial mechanisms and the legitimacy of sustainable finance. Caroline Putman, from Swiss Sustainable Finance (SSF), will present the legitimacy discussion, highlighting how sustainable finance is still widely seen as profit-driven, limiting adoption. Participants will examine where new financial instruments are most needed, which stakeholders must be engaged, and strategies to strengthen societal trust in finance, exploring practical ways to demonstrate impact and accelerate the deployment of capital toward systemic transformation.

Swiss Impact and Prosperity Initiative: Circularity

The repeated failure of the UN Plastics Treaty highlights the limits of global diplomacy in tackling plastic pollution. This creates space for national and regional leadership to act. How can Switzerland, renowned for innovation, competitiveness, and financial strength, lead the transition to a circular economy that creates prosperity and leaves a regenerative legacy?

The Swiss Impact & Prosperity Initiative (SIPI) unites business, policy, and civil society to build a regenerative and resilient Swiss economy. Through its lighthouse missions, SIPI drives the shift from extractive to regenerative systems, boosting innovation and competitiveness.

Curated by B Lab Switzerland and Semadeni Industry Group, a Swiss company known for its innovative and sustainable plastic solutions, this session explores how Switzerland can accelerate plastic circularity, create value, and cut environmental impacts. Speakers will include representatives from V-ZUG, a world-renowned appliance manufacturer; Realcycle GmbH, specialized in recycling plastics from construction among other products; and DePoly, whose breakthrough technology recycles unsorted, dirty PET waste into virgin-grade raw materials. These speakers will help anchor the discussion ahead of the interactive workshop.

Join us to co-create pathways for circular plastics and discover how you can contribute to and benefit from this transformation.
